The Mandola (1930s)

large product photo   Heirloom. Maker unknown.

My father played it until his 92nd year. In the 1980s I gave her a new coat of shellac, and the worm gears were replaced some time in the 90s, also a crack in the top was repaired by my cousin Manfred - he is building organs. So until today she is a dear friend and does go well with Andy Irwine tunes and other folk stuff, or even The Beatles. My oh my!
